After Bennett University submitted a compliance report to the conditions specified in the Letter of Intent, issued by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and based on the report of an expert committee, nominated by the UP Government, the Honourable Governor of Uttar Pradesh approved the Uttar Pradesh Ordinance Number 1 of 2016, for establishment of Bennett University. This ordinance was gazette notified on 7 August 2016. Thereafter, as per the constitutional requirement, the bill was considered by the State Legislature and approved as an Act Number 24 of 2016, Gazette notified by the Government of Uttar Pradesh Vide No 1402(2)/LXXIX-V-1-16-1(Ka)- 25-2016 Dated 16 September 2016.
