Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (Meenakshi University) was formed on 14th June 2004 on behalf of Meenakshi Ammal Trust. The Meenakshi Ammal Trust was founded in the year 1983 as a public charitable and Educational Trust by Mrs. D. Meenakshi Ammal, a noted philanthropist. The trust is involved in various educational activities like giving awards, scholarships, grants and aids to Indian citizens for study and research in the fields of education, Indian culture and fine arts etc. The Govt. of India in Ministry of Human Resource Development and Department of Secondary and Higher Education, New Delhi.
