Mamasaheb Mohol College is one of the prominent institute in the field of higher education in Pune city affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. The college is engaged in multi faculty education viz Arts, Commerce and Science. The college is run by the 'Pune District Education Association's, Pune, which is founded by a great visionary Late Shri. Baburaoji Gholap in September 1941. The institute also runs 09 senior colleges, engineering colleges, pharmacy colleges, education colleges, medical colleges, junior colleges and schools spread all over Pune district.
The college is located in the heart of the city. Though the college is having a very small geographical area of 01 acres and surrounded by the biggest slum of pune city, it is the front runner in catering the students needs. The college offers 10 programmes under Arts, Commerce and Science faculties, including undergraduate, post graduate, and certificate courses. The college is also running a study centre of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik. Students are enrolled for the undergraduate, post graduate, M.Phil courses. The college always tries to keep track of educational trends, needs of the society and started the postgraduate course in Computer Application (M.C.A.) under science faculty and under graduate course in Computer Application (B.C.A.) under Commerce faculty.
The college started the research centre affiliated to Y.C.M.O.U, Nashik. M.Phil program in various subjects like Marathi, English, Library Science, Politics, Hindi, Economics and Commerce is available to the students. The college encourage the participation of students and faculties in research activities. Teachers are getting the benefits of FIP program of U.G.C. Teachers are also doing minor and major research projects sponsored by U.G.C. and B.C.U.D. Pune University.
Along with academic improvement the college has upgraded its infrastructure to provide students with state of the art technology. A three stored new building with ample parking facility is available for the students. It includes the well furnished and computerized library, reading room, modernized computer laboratory, well equipped electronics laboratory and a audio-visual hall.
The college is committed to the students support and progression. Various scholarship schemes are made available to the students. The college is also providing placement assistance through its placement cell. Students are encouraged to participate in social activities through its N.S.S. unit.
