Paper A

A composition or dialogue in French of about 150 – 200 words on a subject covered in the Textbook (choice to be given).

A simple letter in French.

Questions on applied grammar pertaining to the prescribed textbook, Campus – II.

General questions and questions on civilization covered in the textbook Campus – II

Paper B

Objective type/short questions based on Candide, by Voltaire ( Texte en français facile).

CAMPUS – II (Objective type questions on French civilization).

Comprehension of a simple unseen passage.

Translation from French to English.

Translation from English to French (based on the vocabulary covered in the prescribed textbooks (Candide and Campus – II).

Viva – Voce

Reading

Conversation

a. Questions on the textbook
b. Questions on oral text/document
c. Oral Presentation
d. Commentary on a picture

Paper D

Internal assessment

The minimum number of marks required to pass the examination shall be as under:

40% marks in each theory paper i.e. Paper – A and Paper – B.

40% marks in Paper – C (Oral) and Paper-D (Internal assessment)

45% marks in aggregate.

50 marks for Internal Assessment be divided as follows: Each candidate takes at least three out of a total of five tests given during the academic session.
