Pay Scale : - Basic archaeology career salary of person employed with the ASI is between Rs. 5,500 and Rs. 9,000 as an assistant archaeologist which can go up to Rs. 22,000 and up to Rs. 24,000 on reaching the post of director-general. In government departments promotion is performance-based. In private firms similar jobs can be of much higher scale and this remuneration increases with time and experience.
