About of University of Mumbai
The University of Mumbai (known earlier as the University of Bombay) is one of the oldest and premier Universities in India.
It was established in 1857 consequent upon “Wood’s Education Dispatch”, and it is one amongst the first three Universities in India. As a sequel to the change in the name of the city from Bombay to Mumbai, the name of the University has been changed from “University of Bombay” to “University of Mumbai”, vide notification issued by the Government of Maharashtra and published in the Government Gazette dated 4th September 1996.The University was accorded 5-star status in 2001 & ‘A++’ grade status in April 2017 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Mumbai University Admissions
Mumbai University admissions for all affiliated colleges are conducted online. Admissions at the University of Mumbai for UG and PG programs are based on merit or scores obtained in the entrance examination. The university accepts CUET, MHT CET, MHT LAW CET, NATA, and GATE entrance exam scores for admission to BTech/B.Pharm/B.Text, BBA LLB, B.Arch, and M.Tech programs respectively. From the academic year 2024-25, admission to BCA/BBA/BMS/BBM will be based on the Common Entrance Test (CET), conducted by Maharashtra Government. Registrations for admission at Mumbai University usually start in April or May every year. Candidates seeking admission at the University of Mumbai can apply online on the official website @mu.ac.in.

How to Apply for Mumbai University Admission
Candidates applying for admission at Mumbai University can follow the below-mentioned steps to complete the registration process:
Visit the official admission portal of Mumbai University to fill pre-admission enrolment form @muadmission.samarth.edu.in to fill pre-admission enrolment form.
Click on “Admissions” and create a user id and password to proceed further.
Fill in the required details mentioned in the application form. Do not miss out on any relevant details.
Click the final submission after making an online payment of INR 1000 for general students and INR 500 for reserved category students as an application fee.
Take a printout of the application form for further reference.

How To Check Out Results for Mumbai University 
Mumbai University conducts semester exams twice a year i.e. 

Summer Semester (in March or April)
Winter Semester (in October or November)
The results for all the undergraduate, postgraduate as well as distance learning courses are released on the official website of the university i.e. www.mumresults.in. They are declared within a month or two on the website. If the students are not happy with the marks that they have secured, they can apply for revaluation as well by paying a minimal fee.

Facilities of Mumbai University 
Wi-Fi campus: IT-enabled campus students can access the internet facility from anywhere on the campus with high-speed networks.
Classrooms: It extends a good platform for healthy debates, lectures, and discussion. The latest technology is equipped in classrooms. Biometric smartcards are issued to ensure the security of each student within the campus premises.
Laboratory: Labs and workshops for every department. X-ray rooms, engineering, and electrical workshops are equipped with modern techniques.
Sports & Activities: SU also gives adequate care for the sports and cultural activities of the students. SU has indoor and outdoor gaming aids. The open-air theatre and A-C auditorium of SU help to showcase the talents.
Transportation: Bus transportation facility is provided by SU for the convenience of students.
Hostel: Separate hostel amenities for girls and boys. The hostel is well equipped with a mess, internet network, 24*7 electricity, water, heater facility, TV room, space for leisure activities, gymnasium, and basic facilities. SU guarantees a homely feeling in the hostel.
Library: A good library works for developing the reading behavior of the students. Digitalization in the library made the studies beyond the walls of the library.
Cafeteria: The warm ambiance of the café creates a friendly atmosphere. Varieties like Chinese, Thai, and Italian foods are available. Cafeteria, which charges an affordable rate for food items.
Medical Aid: A resident physician is available in the campus to ensure the health care and mobile van facility to deal with emergencies.

Scholarships of Mumbai University 
A variety of scholarships is being offered by the University of Mumbai to its needy and meritorious students under several institutional and government scholarship schemes. Some of them are as follows.

Financial Assistance to the Students Representing Backward Classes: The University offers a provision of up to INR 10 lakhs to render Financial Assistance to the students belonging to the Backward Class (SC, ST, NT, DT, and SBC) studying at various Departments of the University whose annual family income is less than INR 1 lakhs.
Financial Assistance to the Needy Students: A provision of INR 10 Crores has been marked to render Financial Assistance to needy students belonging to the economically backward class studying at various affiliated Colleges/ Institutions/ Departments of the University. Students whose annual family income is less than INR 75,000 can avail the facility of this scholarship. 
Book Bank Scheme: The University renders financial assistance each year to the affiliated Colleges to run the Book Bank scheme for the Backward Class students. 
Government Scholarships: The government of India offers a variety of scholarships for its meritorious students belonging to the SC/ST/DT/NT/SBC categories on the basis of their merits.
